Interview Advice

Things to check before your interview...

  • Day and time of your interview.
  • Company name and address of where you are going and the person you are seeing.
  • Job title and job description.
  • Salary details including any commission/bonus.
  • Company benefits - induction, training schemes.
  • How many people are employed by the company.
  • Do you have any company information to read, i.e. Brochure, website address?
  • Give some thought to how you are going to get there.
  • If you are driving check if there is parking available. Maybe a trial run?
  • Will there be any tests or assessments?

Things to remember during your interview...

  • First impressions count.
  • Body language is important for any interview, make direct eye contact with the interviewer.
  • Always be polite and courteous.
  • Be ready to answer questions on your knowledge of the organisation and the vacancy you are applying for.
  • Take a copy of your CV to your interview, along with any references you may have.
  • Take a pen and pad to make notes.
  • At the end of an interview you may be asked if you have any questions so be prepared.
  • Turn off your mobile phone.

After your interview...

  • Find out if there will be a 2nd interview?
  • How quickly will a decision be made?
  • Who will let me know if I have been successful?
