Job Description

Accounts Assistant - Monday to Friday (P/T 20hrs pw)

Required to provide general accounting and general office support within a small office.

Duties will include:

  • Maintaining filing systems (both manual/paper and on PC network)
  • Receiving and process all receipts, cheques and cash
  • Arranging deposits at local banks and recording receipts on Sage Line 50, Excel and bespoke database
  • Receiving and processing all invoices, expense forms and requests for payment
  • Arranging payment via online banking of all payments and record payments on Sage Line 50, Excel and bespoke database
  • Managing petty cash and credit card transactions
  • Composing & typing routine correspondence using MS Word
  • Managing daily post in and out
  • Answering phone and, after training, providing information and assistance to caller
  • Managing stationery supplies
  • Performing other related duties as required

The applicant should :

  • be competent in Microsoft applications including Word, Excel and Outlook
  • demonstrate an ability to use Sage Line 50
  • have good organisational, verbal and written communication skills
  • have good attention to detail and an ability to multi-task


  • 4 hours per day but some flexibility may be possible by arrangement.
