Part Time Receptionist/Business Administrator

9am to 4pm (32.5 hours) Salary £18,500

Our client is based near Duxford and is looking for an experienced Receptionist Administrator to carry out reception and switchboard duties and provide administration suppor. Own transport essential due to location of company.

Duties include:-


  • To be responsible for all aspects of visitors from the UK and overseas.
  • To carry out greeting and appropriate signing in and out procedures.
  • To take the appropriate action for visiting contractors working on site, including contractors passes, and carry out Health and Safety inductions.
  • To be responsible for the recording of all overseas visitors for Inland Revenue purposes.
  • To be responsible for the sending out of all parcels via courier (except those from Seeds Supply) and receiving all goods deliveries on site.
  • To monitor laundry collections/returns for laboratories/workshops.


  • To produce various documentation at the request of the Business Support Teams, Commercial Team and Research Teams as required.
  • To provide administration support at meetings, taking minutes, preparing appropriate documentation.
  • To keep annual leave records for Business Centre, Seeds Supply and AESG departments, liaising with H.R Manager.
  • To organise travel arrangements for the Business Support Teams.
  • To update Fire Register sheets for UK employees on monthly and weekly basis.
  • To monitor and order stationery and cleaning supplies.
  • To support Marketing department with large mail shots, sending out of year planners to customers.
  • To send out weekly schedule to Business Centre.
  • To to responisble for Petty Cash and Foreign currency.
  • Log invoices onto Excel system.
  • Knowledge of Agricultural Industry would be of benefit (but not essential)


  • Good I.T skills in Microsoft Word, Excel, Outlook, good organisational and communication skills
  • Reception/Secretarial experience, Access/SAP an advantage


  • GCSE or equivalent in Maths and English
  • Business Administration


  • A positive approach on resolving problems by making appropriate and informed decisions to the benefit of the team and business
  • Good communication skills required to be able to interact with internal and external customers.
  • Ability to work under own initiative, prioritising tasks and deadlines.
  • To be a good team player within function providing support to colleagues where and when necessary.
  • Proficient in I.T with capability of producing spreadsheets, documents and creating databases
